Cobham delivers digital intercoms for Army vehicles

Equipment tailored to Army PEO-EIS requirements

Cobham Defense Communications has received $26 million in contracts from Northrop Grumman Corp. to provide digital vehicular intercom systems that will be used on wheeled and tracked Army vehicles.

The ROVIS (AN/VIC-3) intercom systems will be used to meet requirements established by the Army Program Office for Enterprise Information Systems, Cobham said July 20. The intercom offers enhanced communications and situational awareness to users of Army combat vehicles. The deliveries will be completed by the end of 2010.

Among the vehicles that will receive the intercom systems are the recently fielded Mine Resistant Ambush Protected All-Terrain Vehicle, the company said.

Cobham intercom modules are used by 22 armies and can be tailored to light, medium, heavy and marine platforms.

Cobham Sensor Systems (San Diego) two weeks ago announces his employees that a layoff is coming in the next few weeks… How Nice! While they are making profit and receiving more contracts from government they are getting rid of the employees while the whole country is sinking in a deep recession … Maybe the government should think twice…like: why not bailout this company so they can layoff all workers, and the CEO will get more many in bonuses without doing anything? Would you advertise that too?
