The Defense Department has established an enterprise software agreement that offers military agencies discounted pricing on information assurance products and services.

Last month, the Air Force Operations and Sustainment Systems Group, acting on behalf of DOD’s Enterprise Software Initiative, signed a five-year, $34 million blanket purchase agreement with Patriot Technologies Inc. of Frederick, Md., for its Securify Software product line.

Under the agreement, Defense services and agencies will receive between 4 and 35 percent off the General Services Administration schedule on volume purchases of software licenses, software maintenance and services.

According to a DOD release, Securify’s Network Security Management System lets users identify all network security risks that could negatively affect the availability of their systems.

All Defense organizations, the Coast Guard, intelligence agencies and authorized Defense contractors can place orders using the agreement.

The Enterprise Software Initiative is a joint DOD program to develop or procure standard software and hardware across the Defense enterprise. The objectives, according to officials, are to save money and improve information sharing.
